WINTER SEASON – Early December to Late April
Invisible from the valley are the miles of pistes on the biggest skiable glacier in the Alps, where skiing is possible 365 days a year. These snow-sure upper slopes are good for beginners, who can experience fast progression, aided by well-reputed ski schools & the nursery slopes in the village. Intermediates enjoy endless cruising runs & some amazing powder. There is plenty for advanced skiers as well, including the fearsome off-piste run to La Grave, which is one of the greatest ski routes in the world - though for experts only and with a guide.
Les Deux Alpes is a Mecca for snowboarders, boasting some of the best snowboarding facilities in Europe, a claim borne out by the presence of the ’Mondial du Snow’ every October, which claims to be ’the highest & biggest exhibition of snowboarding on the planet’.
Les Deux Alpes is a genuine all-round resort with possibly the liveliest and most varied après-ski in the French Alps. The number and range of shops, bars, and restaurants is impressive and the animated nightlife buzzes until dawn. Other attractions include night skiing, a cinema, ten pin bowling, amusement & games arcades and live music.
Also available in the resort are an outdoor heated swimming pool, ice skating (both free with the lift passes, with sauna and Jacuzzi available at a surcharge), rock and wall climbing, ice climbing, snow-mobiling, snow-shoeing, Quad biking, and ice rink bumper cars.
